Susu Stall

Susu Stall’s love for fashion was cemented early in her childhood, flipping through her mother’s Neiman Marcus catalogues in their New Orleans home. After graduating from Tulane University with a degree in Art History, she turned her attention to raising her four children, while making time to travel the world. In late 2016, she realized her dream of opening her own boutique, bringing unique contemporary fashion from across the globe to her hometown.

Erica Geldersma

Erica Geldersma’s career in the retail business began at the age of 16, when a particular pair of shoes she couldn’t live without compelled her into taking her first job. Although the shoes eventually wore out, her new career path did not. She has continued to work in the New Orleans luxury retail sector ever since, logging time at Saks Fifth Avenue and Mimi’s among others. She now manages SOSUSU with her longtime friend, Susu Stall.

The Boutique

SOSUSU is a women’s boutique offering an array of contemporary fashion from across the globe. Every item is hand-selected by the owner Susu Stall, reflecting her taste for the fresh, feminine, and eye-catching. Carrying clothing that is chic and versatile while remaining unique, SOSUSU is your one-stop-shop if you’re looking to stand out among New Orleans’s always-bustling social scene.

SOSUSU opened its doors in late 2016 in a bright and airy center-hall cottage on Magazine Street. Susu knew that the space would prove essential, and it was only after she had settled on this address that her concept began to fully take shape. Originally planned as a shoe store, Susu began adding clothing, jewelry, and other accessories from a mix of well-known and up-and-coming labels.

Bringing contemporary cosmopolitan fashion to New Orleans is important to Susu, who maintains a roster of brands that sets SOSUSU apart from the renowned retail sector of Magazine Street. SOSUSU is is the sole Louisiana stockist of most of the labels on its racks, and is the sole American representative of brands like Clemence Flane. During her international travels, Susu fell in love with the excitement and vitality of contemporary fashion, from the classic cobbled streets of Paris to youthful ever-changing fashion scenes from Sydney to São Paulo. Recognizing a similar blend of old and new, classic and avant garde in her hometown of New Orleans, Susu opened SOSUSU as a local outpost for forward-thinking contemporary fashion and design.
